Satin pillowcases are a luxurious addition to any bedding set. However, they require a bit of extra care during washing to maintain their softness and shine. We understand it may be hard to fit an entire wash cycle dedicated to your pillowcases, so feel free to throw them in with your other items (we have many times and they’ve turned out great) Follow these steps to properly wash your satin pillowcases:

Step 1: What You Need

A washer or sink, mesh laundry bag (optional), drying rack, iron (optional), gentle detergent

Step 2: Mesh Laundry Bag recommended

It is recommended to use a mesh laundry bag when washing your satin pillowcases, but it is not required. Simply place them in the washing machine with your other items and follow the other steps outlined above.

Try to not wash them with other “heavy items” that have many buttons and or zippers! If you do then we recommend to put your satin pillowcases in a mesh laundry bag to separate them.

Step 3: Use a Gentle Detergent

When washing your satin pillowcases, use a gentle detergent. Avoid using fabric softeners or bleach, as these can damage the satin fibers.

Step 4: Wash on a Delicate Cycle

Set your washing machine to a delicate cycle with a cold water temperature. Wash your satin pillowcases separately from heavier fabrics to prevent damage.

Step 5: Hang to Dry

After washing, gently shake out your satin pillowcases and hang them to dry. Avoid using a dryer, as the heat can damage the satin fibers.

Step 6: Iron (Optional)

If you prefer a crisp, smooth look to your satin pillowcases, you can iron them on a low heat setting. Be sure to use a pressing cloth (or fabric barrier) to protect the fabric from heat damage. Iron the pillowcase on the reverse side to prevent any potential scorch marks on the satin.

Our tip, after they are hung to dry or folded up, when we put the satin pillowcase on our pillow the wrinkles usually work themselves out!

By following these steps, you can keep your satin pillowcases looking and feeling brand new for years to come. If you have any other questions please send us an email!
